Merger of Eclipse and 4DM

We are delighted to announce the completion of the merger of Eclipse Colour Print and 4DM.

Eclipse Colour and the 4DM Group have aimed to become the "best in class" after merging in a deal that creates one of the UK's largest independent commercial print and direct mail businesses.  The merger is the culmination of a working relationship between Eclipse managing director Simon Moore and 4DM chief executive Charles Grant-Salmon that spans more than 20 years.

We provided transaction support services and the deal was funded through the strong balance sheet of Eclipse.  Resources were pulled from our corporate finance, tax and audit teams to provide the range of transaction support that was required.  Our team’s track record and experience was paramount in us being able to provide the guidance necessary to assist with Eclipse in its acquisition of an initial 10% stake in 4DM as part of a five-year strategy that will eventually see managing director Simon Moore take a majority shareholding in the group.  We are delighted with the outcome for all parties involved.

Moore said that both he and Grant-Salmon viewed the deal as an opportunity to build "a fully integrated marketing services provider where two well-established businesses with like-minded staff come together to pool strengths, technology and innovation".
