Alastair Kendrick

Alastair Kendrick is a well known person in the tax world. He spent 20 years in the inland revenue and, whilst an Inspector of Taxes, was involved in all aspects of tax compliance. He left the inland revenue in 1989 and spent 16 years in the big 4 (KPMG and Ernst & Young) before becoming a partner in a smaller tax practice. In 2009 Alastair joined Mazars with joint responsibility for the employer compliance team.

He is considered a leading expert on all aspects of employment tax and is also heavily involved on company car taxation. Alastair advises employers on a wide range of issues from dealing with an employer compliance review to helping to introduce a flexible benefit/salary sacrifice arrangement in place. He helps employers consider their company car policy and the level of any cash alternative on a uk and pan European basis

He was part of the working party on the Construction Industry Scheme and was recently involved in representing a client on an appeal over the loss of their gross status at a lower tax tribunal.

Alastair is a frequent writer and broadcaster on tax related issues. He is the author of the chapter on employer compliance on the tax investigation handbook published by Holborn. He has also written the chapter on company car taxation in the book 'Managing Your Company Car'.

Outside of work Alastair is keen on sport and is a marathon runner, triathlete and golfer
