Global Mobility Director

Tel: +44 (0) 207 429 4100

Phil has worked in expatriate tax for over 17 years having previously practised at big-4 and mid-tier professional services firms in London. Phil joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2015 and he is responsible for global mobility services across the UK firm.

Phil advises employees and employers regarding the implications of international employments and expatriate assignments including tax, social security and payroll obligations. He believes a successful advisor must be adept at managing the many stakeholders involved in an international employment scenario (the home and host employer, the employee and their family, advisors responsible for tax, relocation & immigration matters, payroll & HR functions, and so on). He works with businesses across all sectors but his primary focus is on organisations with small to medium-size expat populations and those encountering global mobility issues for the first time.

Phil is trained in both UK and US expatriate tax and social security matters, a distinct advantage when dealing with transfers between these two countries. He has presented at events and international conferences in both the UK and US. He also gained first hand experience of international assignments when seconded to work in California for a period.

Away from the office he enjoys tickling the ivories, whilst he has laid down the occasional track the world has steadfastly refused to notice and his tax career is not under threat.
