Richard was born and educated in South London. He initially started his working life with a career in banking. However, he decided on a career change and joined Larkings to train as an accountant. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1991 and was appointed Partner in 2002, based in Canterbury. Following the merger with Larkings, Richard joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in July 2013.
Richard has extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of clients including companies, SME’s and charities. He has significant experience dealing with audits, and at one time chaired his firm’s Audit and Technical Committee.
He welcomes the opportunity to provide his clients with a specialist and rounded service to maximise growth for their businesses, including taxation planning and business progression. Richard’s portfolio of clients is broad and varied ranging from agriculture and service industry through to manufacturing. He also acts for a number of local sports organisations and other clubs.
In the past Richard was staff partner and he fully supports the ongoing professional development of staff, believing that continuous learning and updating will improve the service provided for clients and also ensure the health and well-being of the staff.
Richard lives in Canterbury with his wife and they have two children. He has been treasurer to a number of small local charities and spent time as a mentor for the Prince’s Trust. Richard enjoys most sport and in particular he is a keen football fan (a season ticket holder at Arsenal) and an enthusiastic (but very poor) golfer. He also enjoys attending rock concerts and, when time allows, travelling.
