We have interviewed Gareth Peters, Tax Partner at MHA MacIntyre Hudson to understand Autumn Statement's implications on motor sector:

What do you think is likely to come out of the Autumn Statement for the motor sector?

"With Brexit on the horizon I expect that the government will tread very carefully around the motor sector. Representing 11% of our total exports, it’s a key sector for UK PLC’s future success."

If you were the Chancellor what changes would you implement for the motor sector?

"Company car taxation has increased to prohibitive levels. It may actually raise more revenue if the rates were cut."

How do you think Brexit will affect the announcements made in the Autumn Statement for the motor sector?

"Tariff free trade may be affected by Brexit and I would hope that the Autumn Statement announcements will provide some certainty as to our likely future trading relationships."
