In the shorter term, involve them in drawing up action plans to tackle current problems or move the business forward. By discussing issues with all concerned their level of understanding is improved, and where the team develops their own plan, the sense of ownership and commitment helps push it through.
Open communication is crucial and regular meetings to update your team are essential. These should not be lengthy, and should always emphasise positives.
