Reinforcing the German connection
Two recent events have further strengthened the links between MacIntyre Hudson and its portfolio of German-based clients, reinforcing the firm's reputation within CPA Associates International, the global networking association of independent accountants, of which MacIntyre Hudson is the sole UK representative.
The first was a conference hosted by German associate firm, Rödl and Partner. It was attended by Howard Lewis (international liaison partner) and Victor Dauppe (international tax partner) from City office, and Bianca Silva (audit partner) from High Wycombe, some of the MacIntyre Hudson partners who have significant involvement with mutual German clients.
The theme of the conference was Going Global, and was an opportunity for MacIntyre Hudson colleagues to meet Rödl staff and potential new clients. In terms of fee size, the two firms are the largest members of CPA and have found many assignments on which joint work is beneficial.
Just one week later, MacIntyre Hudson played host at the annual dinner of the German British Chamber of Commerce, held in London. Guests included senior executives from Rödl, German clients from City, Leicester and Northampton offices and Michael Petry, managing director of Schott Musik International, a renowned classical music company based in Mainz. UK subsidiary Schott (London) Ltd is a MacIntyre Hudson audit client.
Keynote speaker at this prestigious event, held at the Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel in Holborn, was the Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, who spoke about the common business links between the two countries and emphasised the government's desire for the UK to play a full part in the wider European business community.
