MacIntyre Hudson have assisted in the sale of Corby based Flavours Direct Limited to one of the world’s leading flavouring manufacturers.
The company, which employs 38 people, was acquired by Symrise GmbH & Co KG, for an undisclosed sum. Flavours Direct, which was founded in 1998, will continue to trade under its current name as a UK subsidiary of Symrise. The Managing Director of Flavours Direct, Steve Redfearn, welcomed the move.

He said: “We are all very excited about the venture, and believe that this acquisition will bring important benefits to Flavours Direct, coupling our expertise in flavour design and unrivalled customer service with Symrise’s technology.”
Flavours Direct creates flavours, seasonings and bouillons for crisps, snacks and convenience foods. Its efforts and resources are concentrated towards designing original products, developing straightforward business processes and providing an unrivalled service to its customers.
Symrise, which has its head office in Holzminden, Germany, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flavours and fragrances. The acquisition is part of the international expansion of its business activities in the field of flavours, and strengthens its position in Great Britain, making the company one of the foremost suppliers of savoury flavours in the largest market for snacks and savoury convenience foods in Europe.
Shareholders were advised by a team from MacIntyre Hudson Corporate Finance Limited (MHCF) and MacIntyre Hudson Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors. The combined team was led by Director, Rabby Persaud, and included audit partner, Neil Richens, and tax partners, Marcel Grech-Marguerat and Mike Hayes, together with their respective teams.
Rabby Persaud said: “The acquisition by Symrise will support its global strategy of building core competencies in the UK market and will add great value to its existing portfolio.

Troy Warner and his team at Geoffrey Leaver solicitors in Milton Keynes provided legal advice to the shareholders of Flavours Direct throughout the process. Legal advisers to Symrise were London-based law firm, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
