Valentino secures local film deal

Northamptonshire businessman Tony Valentino has sold his live camera filming business to Blitz Charter Group - with help from the corporate finance division of local accountancy firm MacIntyre Hudson

Tony, who founded Radio Camera Systems (RCS) in 1992, will join Blitz Charter Group as technical director as part of the deal - which was negotiated for an undisclosed sum.

The Hertfordshire-based Blitz Charter Group is one of the world's largest broadcast television equipment rental companies, while Northamptonshire-based RSC specialises in the provision of live camera filming in the UK and Europe. The company has worked on a large range of high profile sporting and televised events using digital microwave camera systems.

He commented: "This deal represents an excellent fit for both parties and will enable Tony to continue to drive the digital microwave camera business forward within the Blitz Charter Group."

Tony added: "Having built the business up over a number of years and being a recognised name in the industry, I am pleased to be joining forces with the Blitz Charter Group. I have worked alongside Blitz Charter engineers for the last decade and I am always impressed by their professionalism."

Recent RCS sporting work has included the Monaco and Magny Cours Grand Prix, Champions League & UEFA Cup football, Premiership football and a variety of horse racing events including all of Channel 4ís live racing coverage. RCS also did the roving camera work for a number of film premieres at Leicester Square and the BAFTA awards.

Mark Thompson and his team at Borneo Linnells solicitors in Bedford provided legal advice to RCS, while London-based Salans provided legal advice to Blitz Charter Group.
