MacIntyre Hudson helps victims of London bombings
Funds raised at a conference by accountants MacIntyre Hudson are set to help a cause close to their heart - those left bereaved by the London bombings.
Cruse, the specialise bereavement charity, will be receiving a cheque for £200, after funds were spontaneously raised at an AoC conference dinner sponsored by MacIntyre Hudson's City of London office for finance directors working within further eduction.
Cruse is a charity close to the heart of the City team. As well as being one of their clients, the charity has been active in supporting people bereaved through the July 7 bombings - a tragedy now at its first anniversary.
Cruse is also a partner in an initiative called 7th July Assistance, which provides information, emotional support and practical advice to anyone affected by the bombings.
Eva Barnheim, MacIntyre Hudson Marketing Co-ordinator, said "The conference-goers raised these funds at the event dinner and asked MacIntyre Hudson to nominate a good cause to receive the money.
"With the anniversary of the London attacks, Cruse seemed a very good choice, especially as it's a reminder that, while they might not be on the front page of the newspaper any more, there are still a lot of people suffering from the effects of the bombings".
Anne Viney, Chief Executive of Cruse, said "Thank you to MacIntyre Hudson and the conference attendees for supporting Cruse and enabling our work to continue. Cruse is there, every day of every week, for the disasters which happen, the death on the road, the heart attack, and the fatal illnesses. Last year Cruse volunteers gave over 480,000 hours."
