Corporate Finance Deal Announcement: SRBE Holdings Limited

6th Nov 2016

We are delighted to announce that our award-winning corporate finance team has advised the shareholders of SRBE Holdings Limited on the sale of the group to Merino Private Equity and Francis Marx.

SRBE’s core business is offering plant and tools for hire to the construction industry. Over the years it has established a reputation for providing high quality service and offering a range of modern equipment to a wide variety of customers. SRBE has sites in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Croughton, which provide it with good coverage of the Home Counties, Midlands and London.

Merino is a private investment company with a passion for helping businesses to grow and develop. The business has a long term investment horizon and, as a hands-on investor, is actively involved in the development of each of its portfolio companies. Merino invested in SRBE together with Francis Marx, who will take responsibility going forward for managing the group. Both Francis and Mark Colley of Merino will join the board.

Our corporate finance deal management advice was led by managing director Laurence Whitehead and director Craig Chamberlain. Our team worked closely with all parties to the transaction.

Neil Hollingworth, exiting shareholder of SRBE commented:

“We appointed MHA MacIntyre Hudson as we wanted to make sure that we were aligned with a team who fully understood our business, our objectives and ultimately a team who we felt we could trust and enjoy working with. We worked closely with both Laurence and Craig during the whole sale process and they provided excellent advice throughout the negotiations and helped us to secure the deal we wanted. We have known Laurence and his team for many years and would not hesitate to recommend them.”

Laurence and Craig added:

“It was a pleasure to work with Neil, Chris and Dan and to assist them with the sale of their business to Merino and Francis. SRBE is a successful and profitable company with an excellent reputation and we are confident that it will continue to go from strength to strength under the ownership of Merino and Francis. We wish Neil, Chris and Dan all the best for the future”.
