Chancellor acknowledges British Film Industry success
With the recent success of films such as The King's Speech, Heather Gordon, Head of Media and Entertainment at MacIntyre Hudson, is relieved to see support for the industry in today's budget.
She said: "With the abolition of the UK Film Council, there was real risk that the industry would suffer. However, I'm pleased to see that the Film Tax Credit is to be extended beyond its original shelf life of March 2012. The additional relief through EIS schemes will be welcome to film producers and investors alike. Both measures will encourage investment in UK films at a time when we need to build on our current international successes."
