MacIntyre Hudson boosts not for profit presence
MacIntyre Hudson LLP today announced its merger with Gotham Erskine, the leading London based accountancy practice focusing on charity and voluntary
organisations.
Rakesh Shaunak, Chairman of MacIntyre Hudson, explained: “Client interest in the not for profit (NFP), social enterprise and public sector areas has increased dramatically in the last 24 months. Once we had established that a merger with an NFP heavyweight was the most efficient way to further build our presence, we were delighted that Gotham Erskine’s strategic aims were complementary with our own.
Gotham Erskine has an unrivalled team of specialists advising a broad and varied client base; from the smaller, traditional groups such as The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour to some of the highest profile names in the field, including the Social Enterprise Coalition, Liberty and Greenpeace UK. When combined with an average of 25 years experience per partner, such credentials are invaluable for our growing NFP sector and will strengthen both MacIntyre Hudson’s presence in the market and our offering to clients.”
Peter Gotham, former Partner at Gotham Erskine, said: “This merger broadens the range of services we can provide for our clients – whilst continuing to deliver to a high level of focus and quality. The NFP sector is a rapidly changing landscape so having in-house tax, restructuring, strategy and corporate finance specialists,
for example, means we can better equip our clients for the next phase of their growth plans.”
As a component of the merger Chris Harris, previously the Resources Director of CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) also joins MacIntyre Hudson with a focus on capacity building for the NFP and public sectors. Chris commented, “It’s the perfect time to be joining the combined strength of MacIntyre Hudson and Gotham Erskine as we look to make a difference during a period when both the profile and importance of charities has never been higher.”
Gotham Erskine began trading as MacIntyre Hudson on 4 July from its Friendly House, EC2A offices but will shortly relocate to MacIntyre Hudson’s London City office at Blackfriars.
