MHA MacIntyre Hudson appointed administrators of Giles & Posner Ltd
Insolvency practitioners from MHA MacIntyre Hudson, chartered accountants and business advisers, have been appointed as administrators to Giles & Posner Limited, a leading international brand in chocolate, catering fountains and other food products, based in Watford.
Fred Satow, Director, and Paul Davis, Principal, of MHA MacIntyre Hudson were appointed administrators on 16 December 2011.
The business was founded in 2001 by two chefs, Darren Giles and Justin Posner, the UK originators of the chocolate fountain for the Professional Catering Market. It has an extensive list of trademarks, patents and licences in the sector, as well as a blue chip customer base with licence agreements with internationally known chocolate manufacturers. Operating with 11 or so employees (until recently) from freehold premises in Watford the firm also has a warehouse in Northampton and products for home use. In addition they have developed a fondue chocolate product and a variety of home – entertainment based appliances sold worldwide. Their products include “Art in a Party”, Commercial, EAT and Retro lines as well as private label programs created for high street retailers and shopping channels including Thorntons, Aldi and QVC.
