Nigel May

Nigel May

Tax Principal, North London Office

Nigel May is Tax principal and Head of Tax Department at the MacIntyre Hudson North London office where he offers tax advice and consultancy to the firm's clients. He is a law graduate as well as a member of the Institute of Taxation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Nigel covers the whole spectrum of tax matters.

Since his graduation in 1987, Nigel worked originally at the firm's Bedford office becoming a Tax Manager in 1992 when he also moved to the MacIntyre Hudson Milton Keynes office. Since autumn 1995 Nigel has been based at North London.

In his years with MacIntyre Hudson, he has gained considerable experience working predominantly with owner managed businesses and professional partnerships - identifying opportunities to mitigate tax liabilities and generally keeping tax affairs in order.

He regularly lectures on general taxation matters (covering Budget commentaries, Self Assessment, Tax and Financial planning etc), both for external audiences and at MacIntyre Hudson client events. Nigel lives in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and is married with three children (which he counts as his 'hobbies', together with computers and cooking!)

Stuart Hind

Stuart Hinds

Principal, North London Office

When Stuart left school having just sat his ‘A’ levels in July 1996 at the age of 18, the traditional route to top jobs in accountancy was a three year stint at university to obtain a degree followed by a further three years training with a firm to become a chartered accountant.  Not Stuart.  He entered the workforce at the age of 18 and has now been made one of the youngest ever Principals at MacIntyre Hudson's North London office at the age of 28.

Stuart now manages a demanding portfolio of clients made up of AIM listed companies and owner managed business across a variety of industry sectors.  His expertise in audit, tax and strategic planning services will strengthen the services provided by the six principals at the North London office to the North London and Hertfordshire community.

"The route I took represents an excellent option for people who have completed their A levels and have decided on a career in accountancy, but aren't sure about going to university" says Stuart.  "After all, accountants are supposed to be some of the most financially savvy people and I was keen to avoid the trappings of student debt and get on the payroll at 18. I think more and more aspiring accountants will take this route in future, especially with the rise in tuition fees.
