Leicester has the largest economy in the East Midlands and historically had a strong association with engineering and the production of textiles, clothing and shoes. This makes it one of the major business hubs in the UK.
We offer a full range of compliance services and business advice to owner-managed businesses, multinationals and high net worth individuals in Leicester and the Leicestershire area. Our clients benefit from the local knowledge and expertise that our staff offers, along with the national and international coverage that is available for those who are looking to grow and expand their businesses.
Our accountants, tax and business advisers offer the following specialist advice to businesses and individuals:
Leicester is one of the oldest cities in England, with a history going back at least two millennia, and as we are a firm that was founded in 1880, we appreciate the importance of nurturing long-standing relationships. It’s why we make every effort to establish working relationships with businesses that will stand the test of time. We are passionate about helping you grow your business, while remaining dynamic and diversifying with the times.
Alan originally trained and worked in small accountancy practices in Leicester before moving to the city’s largest independent practice, Pole Arnold, in 1991, progressing there to partner level.
Pole Arnold was subsequently sold to Numerica, one of the first listed accountancy consolidators, which was then acquired by Vantis and latterly by RSM Tenon.
After working in this listed Plc environment for the last 10-11 years, Alan has taken the opportunity to return to a traditional accountancy practice in MHA MacIntyre Hudson. He will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of owner managed businesses, mainly trading from Leicester and Leicestershire, and will be looking to help grow the Leicester office in the ensuing years.
Alan is married to Lorna, with one son Thomas, who is a 2nd Dan black belt in Korean Martial Arts. Alan is a season ticket holder at Leicester City and also a keen golfer.Get in touch with Alan Herbert
