Partner

Laurence heads up the firm's award-winning corporate finance lead advisory team. Laurence and his team have been recognised at  a number of M&A award events over recent years, including the Insider Dealmaker Awards in 2015, 2013, 2011 and 2009, The Game Changer Awards in 2017, The Corporate International Global Awards in 2016, The British Accountancy Corporate Finance Awards in 2015, The M&A Finance Awards in 2015, The Finance Monthly Dealmaker of the Year Awards in 2015 and the AI Corporate Finance Awards in 2015.  Laurence has also been awarded the CF designation by the ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty in recognition of his M&A expertise.

He is well connected in the corporate finance world, having previously been employed for a number of years at one of the "Big 4" firms where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a Member of the Chartered Securities Institute.  During this time, Laurence also spent several years working on assignments in Russia and the Middle East, as well as working on private equity deals for over a year as a member of that firm’s London-based Private Equity Team. 

Laurence’s main areas of specialism include private equity, corporate acquisitions & disposals, finance raising, management buyouts, business valuations and M&A strategic planning.

Mandy MacKinnon

Business Strategy Consultant

Mandy is an experienced chartered accountant and business strategist who excels at advising clients to overcome growth and profitability issues. As a founder member of the Firm’s Business Strategy Group, formed in 2001, Mandy has worked with a wide variety of SMEs from a range of sectors over the years. Business owners and management teams have benefitted from her help with developing robust strategic plans that have improved the value of their businesses.

Building on her experience and understanding of the needs of SMEs, Mandy has developed a successful “Understanding Finance” workshop which focusses on delivering personalised one to one or team training sessions to SMEs. These bespoke workshops offer clients a greater understanding of their own accounts and help them both in planning the strategic direction and in making the right commercial decisions for their business. The training is particularly popular with the second generation in family businesses or with new directors who are not fully confident in their ability to review financial information. Mandy believes it is not enough to just write a plan; to succeed it must be lived as well. The support she provides is geared to bridge that implementation gap.

As a member of Mindshop, a strategic leadership training organisation which operates globally, Mandy has access to a vast array of business tools and planning techniques that compliment her own training programmes.

Toby joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in August 2017. For over 25 years, Toby has specialised in working with and advising growing entrepreneurial, family and PE backed companies, International groups, and  UK subsidiaries of International parents. He has worked with clients in a diverse range of industries but has specific sector expertise in hotels, leisure and gaming, manufacturing, wholesale & distribution, and the service industry sectors.

Toby is a responsible individual for audit purposes, and has built up a reputation for providing clients with pragmatic advise not only on financial reporting matters but also on strategic business planning matters including raising finance, growth through acquisition, exit planning and business restructuring.

Away from work Toby is a mad keen Worcester Warriors rugby fan and can be found in the South Stand at Sixways at all home games, or blatting around the Worcestershire countryside in “Delilah” his Caterham Super 7 sports car.

Rajeev Shaunak

Head of Consumer, Partner

Rajeev has over 20 years experience working with a varied portfolio of clients especially in the healthcare and consumer sectors. He is the national sector head for the Consumer Sector, covering Travel & Tourism, Leisure & Hospitality and Retail. In addition to audit, accounting and tax issues, Rajeev has considerable experience in giving general business advice including advising on AIM flotations, systems reviews, preparing specialist reports and advising on regulatory compliance.

He is a member of the firm’s Business Strategy Group and enjoys advising on a variety of matters affecting businesses, from audit and accounting issues to budgeting and strategic planning and puts an emphasis on planning for growth and profitability.
