This position will be responsible for a large portfolio and take responsibility for the management of the tax compliance function and staff, ensuring efficient production and quality levels are met and that staff are developed to achieve their full potential.

Life at the Bedford office

 

Based on the banks of the scenic River Great Ouse, Bedford combines history and heritage with more modern features and amenities.  Our office in the heart of the bustling town is only a short walk from the main train station and surrounded by a wealth of cafes and restaurants. Lunchtimes can be spent strolling along the elegant treelined Embankment beside Russell Park or exploring the winding streets of the town centre. Being in a central location means that we are a social office, frequently getting together after work for drinks or a meal at one of the many local pubs.

Our teams are friendly and dynamic, everyone is approachable and ready to support each other. We work closely with the Peterborough office creating the ‘Eastern Region’ which encompasses Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Increasingly we are getting involved with cross-office projects, ensuring that our staff members get to experience a variety of industries and business while appreciating a regular flow of new clients.

Due to Bedford’s convenient location within the ever-expanding Commuter Belt, we also work with a number of London based companies alongside our colleagues in the City office. Many of these companies have international interests and this presents new and exciting opportunities for our staff. Whilst Bob qualified in the audit department of a big four firm, he soon moved to their Corporation Tax Department,  His move to MacIntyre Hudson in 1985 has rounded off his knowledge so that he is well versed in all aspects of tax. As well as advising clients on a consultancy basis, Bob is mainly involved in heading up tax training both in the firm and in our specialist training arm (www.mhasllp.com). He also spearheads the firm’s offering in training non financial managers and directors in understanding accounts (Financial Training Services)  on all manner of transactions. Whilst he is deeply involved in training, he has appeared on national radio and television talking about IHT. Bob believes that simple solutions are often the best ones with taxation.

Accounts Manager

Kate qualified with MHA MacIntyre Hudson completing her Business Management degree. During her studies with the firm Kate achieved the ICAEW Railton prize for international first place in Business Strategy. Kate now works closely with Andrew Moyser specialising in accounts mostly with a focus on owner managed businesses of varying sizes as well as sole traders and partnerships, dealing with all compliance matters whilst looking to identify any opportunities and develop these as well as assisting with projects.

Simon is a Partner based in our Bedford office working with a wide range of clients in a broad spectrum of industries.

His interests lie in developing close relationships with clients and understanding the activities, ethos and motivations that drive their business. Simon has a proven ability to deliver efficient and effective solutions to reporting matters, whatever the complexity, and is enthusiastic and pro-active in providing practical solutions to all aspects of accounting and financial reporting issues.

In his home life Simon dedicates most of his time to his three young children, watching and playing rugby, and when he can fit it in, spending time with his wife.
