Life at the London office

 

Our London office is based in Blackfriars, in the heart of the city and less than a five-minute walk from the spectacular St Paul’s Cathedral.  Surrounded by a choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants, this central location offers extensive opportunities to network and develop skills at events and courses regularly held by professional bodies.

Our offices cover several floors and are open plan to facilitate teamwork and open communication. With over 300 staff members the office environment is vibrant and engaging. Meet the team

David Gallagher

Partner

David joined MHA Maclntyre Hudson at that start of 2012. He previously worked for Mercia Group Limited, one of the UK’s largest providers of training and support services to the accountancy profession, where he was well known on the lecturing circuit and as head of the audit manual.

His current role is to manage the firm’s Technical Department to provide quality assurance to all offices and ensure timely provision of technical support both internally and to external clients. He is also a member of various ICAEW Audit Faculty committees and is a member of the Baker Tilly International Global Focus Board that develops the network’s audit methodology.

David is married to Sarah and they have three children (Shem, born 2004; Sylvia, born 2007 and Estelle, born 2010). In recent years, as Sylvia has become more fanatical, he has become an FA qualified youth football coach. In whatever spare time is left, David is a volunteer at the Leicester branch of Samaritans and is involved with several other charities.

Brendan Sharkey

With over thirty years dedicated service to MHA MacIntyre Hudson, Brendan has worked with a wide range of businesses including quoted companies, as well as owner managed businesses from a large cross section of sectors. His primary focus is on business assurance where he believes audits should provide value and a platform for good advice.

Brendan's aim is to understand a client's goals and help them achieve them. He believes that everyone is capable of change and the key is to create or uncover the desire to do so. 

Brendan's interests outside work are golf, football (Chelsea), rugby (Saracens) and currently Pilates.

Mark Dallas

Mark has been Managing Director of MHA MacIntyre Hudson Wealth Management since 2005. He has been working in wealth management for over 25 years, including over 14 as an independent financial adviser.

Mark is highly experienced in all aspects of helping individuals build and preserve their wealth. He provides independent advice to a wide range of clients and has a particular interest in financial planning in later life, including estate and retirement planning and investments.

Mark has three children and his wife is a Doctor working at the Royal Berkshire hospital. He enjoys spending quality family time, from swimming to cycling and even jumping on the trampoline in the garden! Mark plays a cornet in two local brass bands in the Reading area, and has recorded two CDs in recent years to sell to raise funds for Cancer research and has to date raised £9,000.

Hilary Barrett

Audit Director

Hilary joined MHA Macintyre Hudson in April 2017 as a Director, having previously been a partner in a Surrey firm.  She has 20 years’ experience working with clients spanning the range from small businesses and individuals to international groups, providing audit, accountancy, business services and taxation advice.  Her qualifications as both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser allow her to provide a broad service to her clients.

Hilary has experience of a varied range of sectors including travel, hospitality, engineering, pharmaceutical, care homes, leasing companies and charities, dealing in both UK and international accounting standards.

Outside work Hilary spends much of her time dealing with her two teenage children and her Labrador dog but tries to make time for pilates, swimming, films, friends and nights in with her husband and a box set.
