Life at the Milton Keynes office

 

As one of the country’s newest towns, Milton Keynes has fast become one of the most thriving places in South East England. Our office in the centre is within walking distance to the many restaurants, bars, and attractions which have made Milton Keynes a destination. Less than a 5-minute amble away is the Centre MK shopping mall, boasting nearly 200 stores from luxury brands to major high-street names and everything in-between. We’re not just roundabouts and concrete cows, our theatre is the stage for shows straight from the West End and our green spaces hold festivals, carnivals, and out-door events throughout the year. The surrounding market towns and villages are well worth a visit, offering a wealth of traditional boutique and independent shops amidst charming, historic architecture and lush countryside.

With around 70 members of staff including five partners, our office upholds a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. The open plan layout across one floor enables active communication and encourages teamwork within and across departments. We understand that success is a team effort and so everyone is approachable and ready to support their colleagues, making it easy to ask questions and ultimately progress. Managers continuously collaborate with team members to ensure that everyone realises their full potential. Audit and Accounts Manager

Since qualifying with MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2007, Andrew has been kept busy with a wide variety of assignments which has resulted in a breadth of knowledge and experience in helping businesses deal with compliance work, management reporting, internal accounting systems and much more.  As a result, Andrew’s specialist areas range from Solicitor’s Accounts Rules audits to being a certified Xero adviser.

Andrew is Vice Chairman for the firm, he is also part of the Eastern Region team and specialises in audit, assurance and financial reporting.  Andrew's portfolio includes a number of large international groups with listed parents, as well as UK owner managed businesses.  

Andrew has been at MacIntyre Hudson since 2005 and is the firm’s Audit Compliance Partner and a member of the firm’s Audit Policy Group.  In this role, Andrew ensures the firm’s audit quality as he reviews the firm’s high-profile clients and more complex audits.  Andrew leads the firm’s audit innovation project – responsible for bringing Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence into our audit procedures.

Gareth Peters

Partner

Gareth tends to work on the firm's larger and more complex clients. Based in the Milton Keynes office he became Tax Partner in 2016 after 12 years with the firm. As both a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Gareth covers a wide spectrum of tax issues, both corporate and personal.  Concentrating on owner-managed businesses, his expertise covers corporate tax, mergers & demergers, acquisitions & MBOs, exit & remuneration planning, as well as advising individual clients on more bespoke tax planning strategies.

Gareth is also one of the firm’s R&D tax credit specialists and has advised companies across many sectors including Manufacturing, Engineering, I.T. and Medical Research on how to maximise their claims. He is also works with the National Head of Motor, Steve Freeman, as Tax Partner for the firms Motor sector.

Simon is a Partner based in our Bedford office working with a wide range of clients in a broad spectrum of industries.

His interests lie in developing close relationships with clients and understanding the activities, ethos and motivations that drive their business. Simon has a proven ability to deliver efficient and effective solutions to reporting matters, whatever the complexity, and is enthusiastic and pro-active in providing practical solutions to all aspects of accounting and financial reporting issues.

In his home life Simon dedicates most of his time to his three young children, watching and playing rugby, and when he can fit it in, spending time with his wife.
