Jacqui Tyler

Senior Personal Tax Manager

Jacqui joined the firm from the then Inland Revenue in 1988 as a Tax Senior. From that date she has gained experience in dealing with all aspects of personal taxation and is now a Senior Manager who is responsible for her own portfolio of clients as well as overseeing the personal tax team in the Birmingham Office. 

With over 30 years’ experience in the profession Jacqui has gained a considerable knowledge in dealing with Private Client matters, including Inheritance Tax, Trust and Probate. Jacqui’s client base is varied ranging from High Net worth individuals, members of medical and legal partnerships to sole traders.         

Outside the office Jacqui spends her time planning and enjoying holidays, being either leisurely beach holidays or busy breaks exploring the cities of the World.

Matthew Morris

Personal Tax Manager

Prior to joining MHA MacIntyre Hudson in July 2015, Matthew worked for Bloomer Heaven Ltd for 3 years and Farmiloes LLP, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001.  He has many years of experience within the profession and has acquired a depth of knowledge of Midland businesses across a broad range of industry types.   Matthew specialises in tax for owner- managed businesses and high net worth individuals.  Matthew’s wealth of knowledge and experience can ensure that clients get proactive high level tax advice tailored to fit their specific needs.

Matthew is married with 2 young boys, and enjoys spending as much of his spare time outdoors.   Matthew is keen racing cyclist and enjoys competing in road and circuit races

Chris Barlow

Partner

Chris joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in July 2015 following the merger with Birmingham based MHA Bloomer Heaven. Chris was made a partner at MHA Bloomer Heaven in 2006 and works with owner managed businesses, family owned companies and international groups. Chris deals with a diverse portfolio of clients covering a range of sectors and in particular manufacturing companies and barristers. The firm are patrons of Made in the Midlands, an association of manufacturing and engineering companies, and Chris has been instrumental in developing this over recent years.  Chris is a responsible individual for audit purposes and works closely with his clients to ensure they get the best advice. 

Away from work Chris is a keen musician and was a prize winning pianist, although is now rather out of practice. He enjoys spending time with his family exploring National Trust premises. He is also a member of BNI Apollo where is has previously been chapter director.

Helen Horton

Audit and Accounts Manager

Helen qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2002. She now manages a portfolio of clients in the not for profit sector. 

During her accountancy life Helen has been involved in accounts preparation, audit and special regulatory audits and through this work came to be involved in the not for profit sector.

Helen’s portfolio comprises mostly of accounts and independent examination assignments.

Helen is also familiar with the Academies’ sector and the specific reporting regulations and deadlines that this particular sector brings.

She prides herself on offering support with reporting requirements as well as accounting and business matters generally as well as encouraging a supportive and communicative relationship.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, along with playing tennis and generally keeping fit.
