Peterborough’s population grew rapidly following the arrival of the railways in the 19th century, and it became an industrial centre particularly noted for its brick manufacture. Growth, however, was limited post-war until its designation as a New Town in the 1960s. Today, housing and population are expanding, and a £1bn regeneration of the city centre and surrounding area is underway, fuelling an economic boom. Peterborough has a strong economy in the environmental goods and services sector, and has the largest cluster of environmental businesses in the UK. It’s working to become the UK’s acknowledged environment capital.
Our offices in Peterborough and Bedford, which make up the Eastern region of MHA MacIntyre Hudson, work in close partnership to offer our clients greater expertise and a larger range of geographical coverage. Following more than 10 years working as an accountant within the agriculture and food industry, Amy joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2021. Working for large businesses in the food sector has enabled Amy to develop a keen commercial awareness and to understand the importance of efficient controls, processes and systems. Her previous experience of managing an accounts team and the finance function in a FMCG business, linked with her extensive insight into the commercial aspects of running a business, enables Amy to advise her clients from a position of first-hand knowledge and experience.
Having grown up on a working arable farm, Amy spent holidays with her father in Hungary, helping to establish their overseas business in addition to assisting in the growth and development of the family agricultural machinery company. Now married to a farmer, and with two small boys to consider, the shifts & changes within the rural world are very much key to Amy’s life.Get in touch with Amy Goose
