2019-10-17 8:00:00 2019-10-17 10:30:00 Europe/London Academy Update Seminar – Maidstone

In recent weeks the Education and Skills Funding Agency has introduced significant changes to regulations that academy trusts will need to address early in the Autumn term. Our seminar will help trusts prepare for these new requirements and will provide practical guidance.

Changes include completion and submission to the ESFA of a School Resource Management Self-Assessment Tool by 14 November 2019, and an annual internal scrutiny report by 31 December 2019. This is on top of changes to regularity and compliance required by the Academies Accounts Direction 2019 and the Academies Financial Handbook 2019.

Trustees, Headteachers, School Business Managers and other senior leaders will need to address these new requirements in the Autumn term in order to meet their compliance obligations but will have little time to do so. Failure may risk interventions by the ESFA, so our seminars will provide timely assistance.

Topics covered will include:

  • The new School Resource Management Self-Assessment Tool
  • The new annual report on internal scrutinies performed
  • Significant changes in the Academies Accounts Direction and Finance Handbook 2019
  • Sector good practice – including Integrated Curriculum and Financial Planning

Through our experience as auditors and advisers to nearly 200 academies and our close links with the ESFA we not only have an excellent understanding of these new requirements, but also practical insight into how they can be met in an effective manner.
