What could the Apprenticeship Levy mean for my business?

A new levy will be coming into force with effect from 6 April 2017 for employers with an annual pay bill in excess of £3m.  A monthly charge will become payable based on the size of the pay bill, subject to annual allowances and government top ups.  These allowances and top ups can be claimed as digital vouchers for funding apprenticeships.

For example, an employer with an annual pay bill of £5m could be eligible for digital vouchers of up to £11,000 a year that can be used to fund apprenticeships.
