James joined MacIntyre Hudson Corporate Finance in the London City office in 2015. He has approaching ten years’ experience in lead advisory M&A and focuses on advising entrepreneurs and management teams to develop and execute strategies to create, preserve, or extract shareholder value for companies in the £1m to £100m value bracket.
James has wide ranging M&A lead advisory deal-making experience across a variety of industry sectors on an international basis, with a particular interest in software and technology, media, healthcare and business services sectors.
James completed an Executive MBA (Distinction) from Cass Business School in 2015, and also holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Law from the University of Sydney, as well as an LLB in Law and French. Elaine has more than 35 years experience in the accountancy profession latterly as owner of Shoesmiths Chartered Accountants prior to joining Macintyre Hudson LLP as a full partner following its merger in April 2016.
Elaine specialises in accounts, audit and advisory services for corporate owner managed businesses and foreign subsidiaries. Elaine has worked with a wide variety of businesses over her career including manufacturing, engineering, IT and renewables.
Elaine qualified initially with Robson Rhodes in Birmingham and then joined their London office. After which a spell as a management accountant for an international logistics company gave her the necessary experience and background to then set up Shoesmiths Chartered Accountants which she ran successfully for 25 years . Clients ranged from high tech start ups to growing established SMEs.
Her experience and knowledge has enabled her to provide advice on more specialised areas including taxation across all sectors , taxation lead restructuring, management buy-outs , inheritance tax and succession planning. Bianca heads the firm’s Schools & Academies sector, leading a team of Partners due to her specialist knowledge and expertise developed over 30 years; initially supporting a number of schools in the 1990’s which became Grant Maintained, then moving on to support independent schools as well as schools converting to Academy status and today advising established and growing Multi Academy Trusts, often with complex structures and individual needs. Her diverse portfolio includes many charities, schools, academies, religious organisations and voluntary groups as well as commercial and owner managed businesses.
Bianca holds the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting, which acknowledges expertise and experience in charity accounting and finance at the highest level and is regularly referred to by Partners of the firm to provide guidance on the complex and regulated accounting requirements faced by the Not for Profit sector.
Bianca takes a personal interest in her clients' success and is proud to support the many dedicated individuals, organisations and professionals to achieve their goals. A member of the Churches Main Committee, she devotes much of her spare time to doing voluntary work.Get in touch with Bianca Silva
David joined MHA Maclntyre Hudson at that start of 2012. He previously worked for Mercia Group Limited, one of the UK’s largest providers of training and support services to the accountancy profession, where he was well known on the lecturing circuit and as head of the audit manual.
His current role is to manage the firm’s Technical Department to provide quality assurance to all offices and ensure timely provision of technical support both internally and to external clients. He is also a member of various ICAEW Audit Faculty committees and is a member of the Baker Tilly International Global Focus Board that develops the network’s audit methodology.
David is married to Sarah and they have three children (Shem, born 2004; Sylvia, born 2007 and Estelle, born 2010). In recent years, as Sylvia has become more fanatical, he has become an FA qualified youth football coach.
