Alyson Howard joins MHA MacIntyre Hudson as partner
Alyson has been at the cutting edge of helping many schools manage their transition to academy status. She previously founded and headed the academies team at William Giles, where she advised the first converter academy in Kent and worked with the county’s first pupil referral unit to gain academy status. She also has extensive experience of private finance initiative (PFI) contracts, negotiating revised funding streams to cater for special business cases. Alyson also works with a number of academy training providers to deliver lectures on academy finance and management.
Prior to specialising in education, Alyson’s roles spanned corporate finance, not-for-profit, audit, and corporate recovery. She was Chair of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Kent between 2003 and 2007 and has held a number of national roles in the organisation including terms on the ruling Council, chairing the Membership Committee and acting as Deputy Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee from 2010 to 2017.
