GDPR – one year on
It’s been one year since the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came in to force, on 25 May 2018.
GDPR is a significant upgrade to the 1998 Data Protection Regulations, where data users were not always informed about how and where their data was being used, and did not allow individuals to opt out.
So the new GDPR regulations set more explicit duties for organisations that use personal data and that includes just about everyone.
This updated guide sets out the scope of the new GDPR regime and explains the practical steps that should be taken to ensure compliance.
