The F.E.Digest - Spring 2021
Welcome to the Spring 2021 edition of our F.E. Digest
As we begin 2021, it is worth reflecting on what a particularly challenging year 2020 was and also recognise the challenges that lie ahead.
Colleges are facing an unprecedented pressure on budgets, not least because of a new second national lockdown, but also increased costs associated with Covid-19 and a reduction in income generation opportunities from trading activities, letting income and fund-raising events.
We also head into 2021 having exited the EU, which casts an additional layer of uncertainty over the economic outlook for the country.
Strong governance and financial management will be essential in dealing with these challenging circumstances.
We would urge you to consider all of the identified efficiencies or improvements highlighted in your last audit and put into place a plan to address the audit findings over the coming year.
To assist our clients, we have created a Covid-19 micro site which contains the latest information regarding the various forms of government assistance. A link can be found HERE.
