Chris has worked with clients at every stage of the business growth cycle: from start-up through to flotation. Heading our Hospitality and Leisure team, Chris has a number of clients across the sector including hotels and restaurants.  

He is heavily involved with his clients’ affairs, the large majority of which are owner-managed family businesses. He is a hands-on adviser and enjoys the variety of challenges offered by working in public practice, bringing over 35 years experience.  Chris’s portfolio of clients also includes a number of large groups both in the UK and overseas.

Head of Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility & Climate Change

Rich joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in September 2020 to lead our Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility and Climate Change work.

A former ‘big four’ Risk Assurance Director, Rich started, built and led their Northern Sustainability Practice and was ultimately responsible for their Performance Assurance line of service.

Drawing on over 30 years cross sector, multi discipline experience. Rich brings over 15 years’ experience and passion of leading successful Sustainability and risk engagements. He has worked and led teams both internationally and within the UK, working with some of the largest and most complex businesses across their global footprints.

Rich has led major sustainability engagements from idea generation and inception through to successful implementation across advisory, reporting and assurance and internal audit.

Rich has a genuine passion for business and enjoys working on excellence in client service, building and developing high performing teams, mentoring and innovation.

Having led teams in the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and America he places a high value on embracing cultures and diversity and supporting responsible and purposeful business.

In addition to his Sustainability expertise Rich has engagement leader experience and expertise across Third Party Assurance, Contract Assurance, and complex risk management across strategy, operations, and supply chain.

Marc Mann

Research and Development Tax Manager

Marc joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in June 2020 as an R&D Tax Specialist. Based at the Milton Keynes office, Marc supports the Central and Northern regions.

Marc has a wide range of ‘hands-on’ industry experience spanning over 20 years within R&D environments, together with a BSc in Product Design. This experience includes product and manufacturing research, design and development across a diverse range of industries that include automotive, industrial mechanical/structural, lighting, audio-visual and renewables.

Marc has been working in R&D Tax over the last 8+ years, bringing his wealth of skills and experience to the table to help leverage, understand and analyse activities against the BEIS guidelines on the definition of R&D-for-tax-purposes, as well as with compiling the relevant supporting technical documentation for the R&D claims.

Outside of work, Marc enjoys spending time with his family, vehicle restoration and DIY, car and motorcycle trackdays, and is a keen cyclist.

Joe Spencer

Specialising in the Agriculture & Rural Business sector Joe has developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing farming businesses today. He advises clients from small family farms through to larger commercial enterprises on various issues such as diversification projects, business restructuring, succession planning and benchmarking.

His experience within the agricultural sector enables him to offer considered and insightful solutions to sometimes difficult situations. Taking time to understand not only the business structure but also the family dynamics allows Joe to fully appreciate these relationships and to factor these in when suggesting inheritance tax and other succession planning strategies.

Joe is also involved in advising businesses operating within pharmaceutical and life science sectors. In particular, assisting with tax planning and structuring, and providing a full range of compliance services.
