VAT and other tax-related reporting

We help prepare VAT and related reporting, inclusive of Intrastat and across the European Union. We provide a fully-managed indirect tax option, liaising with our colleagues (and providing you with a single point of contact) across the EU to ensure that all your obligations are met.

Our review of VAT compliance is designed to identify possible registration requirements across the EU.

Financial management and reporting

  • We can initiate payments via your online banking facility; our client bank management team is separate to the outsource team to ensure that the payments are secure, timely and in line with your approval.
  • We can help prepare your statutory financial statements, and provide support through external inspection or audit - all part of our overall service, not an added extra.
  • Technological advances such as cloud-based accounting are at the heart of our outsourcing solutions.

James Meek

Accounts Manager

James heads our independent Accounts Hub in Colchester, providing accounts preparation services for clients nationally through a team of financial reporting specialists that are separate from the audit process.

James joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2006 and obtained both his AAT and ACA qualifications with the firm. He specialises in management reporting and large, international group consolidations, and has a flair for designing and building tailored financial reporting tools. 

His portfolio consists of clients across the full spectrum of sectors and industries within the MHA network, affording him unique insight and experience when advising on financial reporting matters.

James prides himself on delivering practical, accurate advice to his clients in a language and manner they can understand. He considers himself to be a problem solver who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo, often finding the simplest solution is the right one. 

Outside of work James enjoys spending time with his family and trying to cook them a decent meal.

Lisa Doyle

Business Services Manager

Lisa Joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in November 2017. 

Lisa is a qualified Business Services and Accounts Manager based at our Leicester office, who aims to provide an excellent service to her clients by working closely to understand their business, industry and requirements. 

Lisa has over 15 years’ experience and oversees the Business Services and Accounts team and coordinates the smooth running of work within the department.

Shelley Harvey


Shelley joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2019 as a Director in the Leicester office. With almost 20 years’ experience in practice, Shelley has worked with many different sized businesses and sectors.

Her current portfolio ranges from smaller owner managed businesses through to larger corporate entities. Shelley prides herself on having regular contact with my clients, proactively advising on a range of issues.

Prior to working in practice Shelley spent some years within an accounts team for a manufacturing business. She feels that this gives her a ‘user perspective’ on the both the audit and accounts services, allowing her to deliver as effectively as possible.

Liam joined MHA as a trainee in 2006 and has over 15 years’ experience in audit and accounts.  

He is now a key part of the senior management team in the Leicester office and has an active role in regional and firmwide matters.  

Liam’s client relationships range from small owner-managed businesses to large multinational groups across a wide range of industries and sectors.
