Stephen Askew

Partner

Stephen joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson when the Kent offices of Haines Watts merged with the firm in 2018 having formerly ran a practice for 30 years. 

Stephen specialises in providing business strategy advice to owner managed businesses and has trained with a variety of leading consultants to specialise in Business Development.  

His advice comes not just from his background as a Chartered Accountant but from learning and developing other skills relevant to running a successful business.

Stephen has also undertaken a number of speaking roles and lectured on finance both in the UK and overseas for a management school running Institute of Management qualifications.

He volunteers as a National Councillor for the South East Region for the Federation of Small Businesses, a role that places him in a position to help small businesses.

Outside of work it is about the family, travel and sailing being the proud owner of a ten metre yacht.

Sunil Tailor

Manager

Sunil joined the firm in January 2010 as a graduate trainee. After qualifying in January 2013, he quickly became a general practice portfolio manager. He is an active member of the firm’s Professional Practices sector and Business Strategy Group, providing a strategic planning service, giving innovative advice to individuals and businesses.

Sunil currently works on a varied and diverse portfolio of clients, specialising in audit and accounts. He is a member of Mindshop, helping provide tools, training and support to businesses looking to reach their full potential. He is a specialist in Solicitors Accounts Rules and assisted in developing a new internal work programme and delivers an internal course on the matter. Sunil graduated from University College London, studying Economics and is a member of the Institution of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW). 

In his spare time, Sunil is a sports enthusiast. He is a season ticket holder at Saracens RFC, played youth county rugby and cricket at various representative levels, having represented England Under 17s, Middlesex 2XI and is currently a full MCC member. Due to his strong sporting background, Sunil takes great pride in team development and strong client relationships and is a key part of the firm’s Social and Client Care Committees.

Joe Spencer

Manager

As a qualified accountant and business advisor Joe specialises in advising Agricultural & Rural businesses on a broad spectrum of issues from Capital Tax Planning through to Performance Analysis & Benchmarking.    With responsibility for the Eastern region, Joe manages the Agricultural & Rural Businesses for both the Peterborough and Bedford offices. 

Joe’s accountancy training took place in an agriculturally focussed firm, enabling him to consolidate & strengthen his knowledge of this sector. Success resulted in his managing his own client portfolio & assisting SMEs to achieve their business and personal objectives.

In his spare time, Joe is at his happiest in the fresh air, taking in the local countryside, preferably with a cheese board and a glass of port.

Mukesh Bulsara

Corporate Finance Director

Mukesh, a Chartered Accountant, is a specialist Mergers & Acquisitions lead advisor.  He is particularly experienced at advising on the sale of companies, corporate acquisitions, management buyouts, M&A strategic planning, business valuations and finance raising.  With over twenty years of dedicated Corporate Finance experience in the “Big 4” and more recently as Reginal Head of a mid tier firm, Mukesh has led transactions across a wide range of sectors.

Mukesh is well connected in the business world and is a Board Director of Leicestershire Business Voice.  Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his family, follow Leicester City Football Club and being a keen cricketer, Mukesh enjoys playing and watching the sport during the summer months.
