The cloud accounting phenomenon appears to be a freight train driving through the accounting profession, revolutionising the way accountants interact with their clients.

The cloud allows immediate access to client records from any location (with an internet connection), which in turn fosters a more dynamic relationship between business and adviser.

New tools dramatically reduce data entry, allowing bookkeepers to focus on training and advice. New ways to produce and provide reports creates cost savings for key value-added services such as management accounts, allowing us as accountants to provide more for less.

System implementation

We have invested time in developing our knowledge of the ever-changing world of cloud products so that you don’t have to. Utilising change management and an implementation timeline, our teams ease the transition over to new systems.

Training

As well as being at the end of the phone for any query, we can tailor initial and ongoing training packages to ensure that your team gets the full support they need. With one of the easiest interfaces to use in the industry, you can look forward to a quick and painless implementation as well as a worry-free, day-to-day accounting process. Its software is robust and fast, minimising downtime and reducing loading times. The direct bank feeds reduce processing time and eliminate the need for reconciliations. A range of apps specific to your sector accentuate the software, increasing efficiency further.

Intuit QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks Online is Intuit's cloud based accounting package and is one of the most comprehensive and easy-to-use solutions in the industry. Intuit has a good record with all of its products, and QuickBooks is no different. It has automated features such as scheduled billing, bank reconciliation and automatic backup, you can cut down on the time you spend on routine accounting tasks.

Sage One Accounting

Sage Accounting is a popular accounting software for a variety of different business models. With professional invoicing and collaboration tools, Sage continues to be ever-present in the market place. Online accounting via Twinfield means flexible accounting, with a range of subscriptions to suit both small and large organisations. Twinfield also ensures efficient, secure, real-time data exchange between clients and administration or accountancy firms. Because Twinfield works as a web application, users can access and exchange financial reports online anywhere and anytime via a secure internet connection.

Head of Agriculture, Partner

Sarah’s strength lies in helping ambitious, owner-managers to reach their goals. Her clients not only benefit from the emphasis she puts on having the right management information upon which to base decisions but her ability to summarise their position and make timely and appropriate recommendations. With expertise gained in the Manufacturing sector, Sarah helps manufacturing businesses with all aspects of strategic and financial matters – guiding them through the complex issues that require the right decisions.

The commercial world plays a major role in Sarah’s life but being married to a farmer and living on a mixed farm, has afforded her the opportunity to understand and appreciate the agricultural sector at first hand.  As head of the firm’s Agriculture & Rural Business sector, Sarah has brought her considerable personal agricultural knowledge to this sector, enabling her to develop an insight into farming & agricultural businesses not usually available to other accountancy professionals.

Sarah leads the Cloud Accounting Sector for the firm. With her dedicated Cloud team, Sarah advises clients on the best way forward using the various software packages and Apps available.

Head of Healthcare, Partner

James qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 and became partner in 2009.

James is head of the Healthcare sector at MHA MacIntyre Hudson and has a diverse portfolio in the healthcare sector comprising a range of GP Practices, Locum GP’s, Dentists, Hospital Consultants and other healthcare professionals.

He is also the nominated specialist for the Maidstone office’s membership of AISMA “The Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants” of which he also sits on the Board of Directors.

James spends an  increasing amount of time presenting to the healthcare sector, including trainees, GP Practices (including advising those looking to join a Federation) and in hospitals, around the country.

Outside of his sector specialism James’ client base comprises of charities (including Academies) and regulated businesses alongside other various mainstream audit, accountancy and tax work.

James prides himself on getting to know his clients, looking past the numbers at their aspirations and family dynamics and recognises that tax efficiency needs to be weighed up with overall objectives.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his growing family (he and his wife have four young sons), along with fishing, golf and playing pool (having represented Kent at county level for the latter).

Andrew Dennison

Audit and Accounts Manager

Since qualifying with MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2007, Andrew has been kept busy with a wide variety of assignments which has resulted in a breadth of knowledge and experience in helping businesses deal with compliance work, management reporting, internal accounting systems and much more.  As a result, Andrew’s specialist areas range from Solicitor’s Accounts Rules audits to being a certified Xero adviser.

Andrew joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in April 2019 following the merger with Kent based accountancy practice Percy Gore & Co, where he had been a partner since 1990. Andrew has a has a diverse portfolio in the healthcare sector comprising a range of GP Practices, Locum GP’s, GP Federations, Dentists, Hospital Consultants and other healthcare professionals.

Andrew regularly lectures and runs seminars on Primary Care finance.

Outside of work, Andrew is actively involved with his local church and enjoys running and sailing.
