Tallat joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2016 having previously been a part of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) team at Grant Thornton. He has been advising businesses on exits, fundraisings, acquisitions and buy-outs for over 10 years at firms including EY and RSM.
In addition to his corporate finance advisory experience, Tallat was also a key part of the team at an energy technology venture capital fund that invested in energy businesses globally. He was responsible for deal origination and execution, as well providing hands-on expertise for business growth and expansion at Board level. During this time, he was seconded to Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) to work on buy-outs in the mid-market space.

James joined MacIntyre Hudson Corporate Finance in the London City office in 2015. He has approaching ten years’ experience in lead advisory M&A and focuses on advising entrepreneurs and management teams to develop and execute strategies to create, preserve, or extract shareholder value for companies in the £1m to £100m value bracket.
James has wide ranging M&A lead advisory deal-making experience across a variety of industry sectors on an international basis, with a particular interest in software and technology, media, healthcare and business services sectors.
James completed an Executive MBA (Distinction) from Cass Business School in 2015, and also holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Law from the University of Sydney, as well as an LLB in Law and French. Laurence heads up the firm's award-winning corporate finance lead advisory team. Laurence and his team have been recognised at a number of M&A award events over recent years, including the Insider Dealmaker Awards in 2015, 2013, 2011 and 2009, The Game Changer Awards in 2017, The Corporate International Global Awards in 2016, The British Accountancy Corporate Finance Awards in 2015, The M&A Finance Awards in 2015, The Finance Monthly Dealmaker of the Year Awards in 2015 and the AI Corporate Finance Awards in 2015. Laurence has also been awarded the CF designation by the ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty in recognition of his M&A expertise.
He is well connected in the corporate finance world, having previously been employed for a number of years at one of the "Big 4" firms where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a Member of the Chartered Securities Institute. During this time, Laurence also spent several years working on assignments in Russia and the Middle East, as well as working on private equity deals for over a year as a member of that firm’s London-based Private Equity Team.
