Head of Manufacturing & Engineering, Partner

Atul is the firm's National Sector Head for Manufacturing and Engineering and leads the Eastern Region's Business Advisory team.  Atul advises a variety of corporate clients with a focus on the manufacturing and construction sectors.  Having been with the firm since 1998, he offers his clients sound forward thinking advice, particularly in relation to strategic planning, tax mitigation and group structures. Atul’s strength is to help clients challenge their thinking and provide innovative, joined-up solutions that help them succeed.

Chris Harris

Partner

Chris graduated from the London School of Economics and trained as an accountant with the NHS. He spent three years in Cairo as the volunteer finance director of a media organisation. Since returning to the UK in 1995 he has specialised in the charity sector, working for the Shaftesbury Society, Action for Blind People and CIPFA.

He has over twenty five years’ experience in not-for-profit and public services including ten at Director level. His primary achievements have been through implementing strategic change, providing coherence and balance to senior teams, and ensuring that resources are applied appropriately to the objectives of the organisation. He has a masters degree in charity finance and a strong interest in professional development, founding the CIPFA Charity Panel and the CIPFA Certificate in Charity Finance at London South Bank University.

Brendan Sharkey

Head of Construction & Real Estate, Partner

With over thirty years dedicated service to MHA MacIntyre Hudson, Brendan has worked with a wide range of businesses including quoted companies, as well as owner managed businesses from a large cross section of sectors. His primary focus is on business assurance where he believes audits should provide value and a platform for good advice.

Brendan's aim is to understand a client's goals and help them achieve them. He believes that everyone is capable of change and the key is to create or uncover the desire to do so. 

Brendan's interests outside work are golf, football (Chelsea), rugby (Saracens) and currently Pilates.

Alison Conley

Head of Retail & Consumer, Corporate and International Tax Partner

Alison was appointed as one of our Tax Partner's in the summer of 2016 and advises clients of both the London City office and Chelmsford.

After training with a big four firm of accountants, Alison specialised in international tax before being made a partner with BDO, going on to lead its Southern region tax team. She returned to the big four as a partner before becoming a director of a specialist tax and business advisory firm focussing on entrepreneurial clients. 

Over her career, Alison has advised corporate clients of all sizes across many business sectors, but she has particularly strong experience in the retail space. 

Alison has also been involved in multiple transactions and deals, where her focus is on ensuring that the tax strategy matches the needs of the company and its shareholders. 

Alison works closely with the corporate finance teams, and with international clients requiring cross-border tax advice.
