Rakesh Shaunak

Partner and Group Chairman

Rakesh is currently Group Chairman as well as Chairman of the City Office. Rakesh qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a top five firm, gaining experience of large corporate audits and qualifying as a Member of the Institute of Taxation. He devotes much of his time to business advisory work and has a large portfolio of commercial clients. He is also the Managing Partner of the firm's education unit acting for a substantial number of colleges, academies, free schools, and other schools and education bodies.

He acts for a number of Leisure and Hospitality providers and understands the challenges facing the sector. Rakesh is keen to follow the ever changing landscape of Leisure and Hospitality in order to anticipate the needs of his clients.

He believes that people accept inefficiency and complacency far too easily and everyone should be encouraged to test their boundaries.

Dipesh Patel

Senior Tax Manager

Dipesh joined the firm in 2001and is responsible for managing a busy corporate tax team with a varied client portfolio ranging from   property development companies to Academy Trusts. Dipesh works closely with his team in providing corporate tax advisory services and oversees the compliance for these clients. 

Dipesh’s alma mater is De Monfort University where he read Accounting & Finance. His Thesis on Inheritance tax effects on Heritage Property was commissioned by the then Secretary of State for National Heritage, Stephen Dorrell’s office. Dipesh holds a post graduate from De Monfort University, is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. 

In his spare time Dipesh spends time with his family and plays on keyboard and vocals with a Bollywood band in Cambridge.

David Gallagher

Partner

David joined MHA Maclntyre Hudson at that start of 2012. He previously worked for Mercia Group Limited, one of the UK’s largest providers of training and support services to the accountancy profession, where he was well known on the lecturing circuit and as head of the audit manual.

His current role is to manage the firm’s Technical Department to provide quality assurance to all offices and ensure timely provision of technical support both internally and to external clients. He is also a member of various ICAEW Audit Faculty committees and is a member of the Baker Tilly International Global Focus Board that develops the network’s audit methodology.

David is married to Sarah and they have three children (Shem, born 2004; Sylvia, born 2007 and Estelle, born 2010). In recent years, as Sylvia has become more fanatical, he has become an FA qualified youth football coach. In whatever spare time is left, David is a volunteer at the Leicester branch of Samaritans and is involved with several other charities.

Neil works with a wide range of clients across all sectors but the majority are family owned and managed businesses looking to expand and develop. He has significant experience in practice management, corporate structures, business plans, pension schemes and tax planning. As a Regional Business Consultant Neil believes that businesses need to be crystal clear on what they want to achieve before worrying about how to go about it.
