Audit and Assurance

In this constantly-changing business environment, it is vital for companies and organisations to have a reliable team of experts advising them on how to navigate business structures, the occasional transactional jigsaw, periodically changing legislation, and so on.

MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s audit and assurance team works hard to make sure your business is - and remains - compliant with legislation. With joined-up thinking, we offer you the best financial solutions and advice to help strengthen your foundations; this gives you a solid base to go on and realise your full potential.

Technological advances mean goods and services are being created and exchanged in the most fascinating ways these days. But it’s important to note that, irrespective of the fast pace of change, businesses should never compromise on procedures and standards. This is where our audit and assurance team comes in - to bring you the peace of mind that you deserve through the expertise of our staff.

With the frequent changes to business legislation or the compliance landscape, as well as the increased scrutiny on businesses these days, you need a reliable team of audit and assurance providers that will take the time to understand your business and its specific needs.

We can help with multiple services, including:

Corporate governance

External audit

Financial reporting

Grant and royalty audits

Internal audits and risk assurance

Our audit and assurance team's experience is broad, ranging across owner-managed businesses, private companies with many shareholders, quoted companies and subsidiaries of international groups. We are spread across London and the South East, East Anglia and the Midlands, giving us both local and national coverage – and, of course, our membership of both MHA and the Baker Tilly International network takes that reach to all corners of the globe.

Links with the shipping industry forged early in Howard’s career and which continue today led to his interest in overseas businesses. For the last 20 years he has led the firm’s international development group and his connections with a multitude of advisors including members of Baker Tilly International, around the world, ensures that companies based overseas and trading in the UK and the firm’s clients taking their first steps into new markets are actively assisted.

The international business development group links clients from the UK with Baker Tilly members throughout the world and clients referred from overseas are connected to the sector, service line and location that can most efficiently handle their affairs.

Our clients arriving in the UK from overseas are headquartered in all parts of the world but our highest concentrations have traditionally been the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Australia as well as from the original links with shipping, Greece. Activities undertaken are widespread covering all types of products and services as well as retail, distribution, wholesale and manufacturing.

Having worked in the City of London for most of his career he is a Freeman and this demonstrates his continued and long term interest in the City. Howard is married to Leonie, the CEO of a communal volunteer organisation and both of them are actively involved in their local community and the promotion of inter faith relationships throughout London.
