Steve Locke

Audit & Accounts Supervisor

Steve has been with MHA Macintyre Hudson since 2011 where he joined as a school leaver. In this time he has completed both his AAT and ACA qualifications with the firm and swiftly progressed to the level of audit and accounts supervisor. Steve has been working locally in the Essex market, expanding his experience into a variety of sectors and business sizes.

Steve has significant experience with a number of clients in the Not-for-Profit sector, including Independent Schools and Academies, working closely with them to provide audit, assurance and statutory accounts preparation services. He is committed to developing strong working relationships with clients and colleagues alike, and prides himself on the long-standing working relationships he has developed, especially with the local Academies which he has been involved with for multiple years.

Steve has also gained extensive experience and knowledge with Small to Medium owner managed businesses. With these he has covered a variety of services, most notably in the audit and compliance field. His role extends beyond compliance where he also ensures that he is able to answer client queries and provide valuable advice on subjects such as VAT, accounting and bookkeeping.

Chris Barlow

Partner

Chris joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in July 2015 following the merger with Birmingham based MHA Bloomer Heaven. Chris was made a partner at MHA Bloomer Heaven in 2006 and works with owner managed businesses, family owned companies and international groups. Chris deals with a diverse portfolio of clients covering a range of sectors and in particular manufacturing companies and barristers. The firm are patrons of Made in the Midlands, an association of manufacturing and engineering companies, and Chris has been instrumental in developing this over recent years.  Chris is a responsible individual for audit purposes and works closely with his clients to ensure they get the best advice. 

Away from work Chris is a keen musician and was a prize winning pianist, although is now rather out of practice. He enjoys spending time with his family exploring National Trust premises. He is also a member of BNI Apollo where is has previously been chapter director.

Jon Higginbottom

Audit Director

Jon is an audit director who joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson LLP in April 2017.

He joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson LLP having being with his previous firm for over 16 years he brings with him an excellent depth of knowledge as a result of working with various companies and organisations across various sectors which includes the charity / Not-for-profit, and education sectors as well as various commercial sectors including OMBs and UK subsidiaries of overseas parent companies, which gives him a rounded view of the economy and helps him understand his clients business.

Outside of work Jon regularly goes to the theatre and is an avid cyclist.

Deborah Weston

Head of Financial Services, Partner

Deb specialises in audit and assurance services to investment businesses and leads the financial services sector nationally for MHA MacIntyre Hudson. 

After 30 years’ with a Big Four firm in London where Deb specialised in asset management, she joined Kinetic Partners, a firm providing professional services to the financial services industry, in 2012 as Head of Audit. When Kinetic was acquired by the US valuation firm Duff & Phelps, Deb led the audit team as a standalone small boutique firm (KP Audit) for two years before acquisition by MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2016. 

Deb has a wealth of experience providing audit and assurance services to the financial services sector, working with hedge, property and private equity fund managers, and with investment advisors and arrangers. In addition to statutory audit, Deb’s experience includes internal controls and client assets.
