Tax Manager

Leigh is a tax manager in our healthcare sector and joined MHA Macintyre Hudson from Grant Thornton UK LLP.

Leigh started his career in tax 25 years ago at HM Revenue & Customs (Inspector of taxes at that time) before moving in to practice in 1994.

Leigh has 4 children which keeps him very busy but has still found time to run over 45 marathons and ultra marathons.

James Kipping

Partner

James is a Tax Partner in the Eastern Region and is our Head of Private Client.

James has been with the firm since 2005 and provides pro-active advice to the firm’s diverse range of clients. 

James covers a wide spectrum of tax issues, both corporate and personal.  Concentrating on owner managed businesses, high net worth individuals and trusts, his expertise covers income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning as well as corporate tax, including mergers and demergers, acquisitions and MBOs, exit and remuneration planning. 

James’ strength is in maximising opportunities for clients in relation to tax and seeking to recommend solutions that achieve the best conclusion from both a commercial and tax viewpoint.

Mel Lake

Audit Manager

Mel qualified in February 2009 and joined the firm the same year.  She is an experienced audit manager working throughout the Kent region, with a wide range of clients over various sectors including not for profit and owner managed companies. 

Her role involves working closely with the dedicated client partner and team to provide an audit with the highest levels of assurance and minimum disruption possible. 

Mel’s approach to work is to deliver a well-planned and efficient audit and encourage the development of a supportive and communicative relationship to her clients so that they feel comfortable to make contact with any queries during the course of the year not just at the audit.

Anthony joined MHA in 2018 following the merger of Haines Watts Kent. He has been practising in Kent since 1986 and has a breadth of experience in both the healthcare and owner-managed business sectors.

He focuses on regular hands-on advice to clients to help them set and meet their objectives by identifying opportunities and potential problems.

Golf, gardening, walking and cycling are all interests – just not enough of the time!
