Our experience is rooted in a wide-ranging client list that spans family farms across livestock, dairy, arable and top fruit, through to large commercial organisations in agri-business.

With agricultural accounting as our core, we have extended our expertise into related sectors, particularly with manufacturers and providers of agri-chemicals and plant machinery. We also serve clients from the wider rural community, including in leisure and tourism and property.

We pride ourselves on our insight into the agricultural sector, which we have built up over many years, but we never stop learning or looking at what issues and regulations are up ahead. Our membership and involvement with agricultural organisations such as the CLA and the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) place us at the heart of the sector and enable us to remain ahead of agricultural issues and directives.

Our Head of Agriculture & Rural Business, Sarah Dodds talks to two Lincolnshire farmers about the challenges they have faced since the recent flood that has affected large parts of farmland across the UK.

Marissa Lebeau

Accounts Director

Marissa has a wealth of experience across the sectors but for many years has had many clients in farming, owners of land and trusts. She enjoys engaging with clients discussing family matters, offering guidance and support and along with her tax colleagues advising on tax structures for now and in the future.

Dealing with owner managed businesses is a firm favourite of Marissa’s, looking at family involvement, compliance, raising value and succession planning.

Sarah Whytock

Accounts Director

Sarah manages a large portfolio of clients with an emphasis on Charity & NFP organisations, farming, food and agricultural businesses. Having been brought up on a farm, Sarah is able to appreciate the challenges and complexities involved in running an efficient farming business - knowledge which helps her significantly when dealing with farm accounts, general tax and business advice.

As one of the first members of the firm to achieve the Diploma in Charity Accounting this demonstrates the high level of competency Sarah has achieved within the NFP sector – enabling her to give appropriate advice and guidance. Achieving deadlines and delivering a high level of service are very important to Sarah.

Sarah’s strength lies in helping ambitious, owner-managers to reach their goals. Her clients not only benefit from the emphasis she puts on having the right management information upon which to base decisions but her ability to summarise their position and make timely and appropriate recommendations. With expertise gained in the Manufacturing sector, Sarah helps manufacturing businesses with all aspects of strategic and financial matters – guiding them through the complex issues that require the right decisions.

The commercial world plays a major role in Sarah’s life but being married to a farmer and living on a mixed farm, has afforded her the opportunity to understand and appreciate the agricultural sector at first hand.  As head of the firm’s Agriculture & Rural Business sector, Sarah has brought her considerable personal agricultural knowledge to this sector, enabling her to develop an insight into farming & agricultural businesses not usually available to other accountancy professionals.

Sarah leads the Cloud Accounting Sector for the firm. With her dedicated Cloud team, Sarah advises clients on the best way forward using the various software packages and Apps available.

Rob Dando

Corporate Finance Partner and Transaction Services Leader

Rob joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson Corporate Finance in April 2020 to lead the Transaction Services team. Rob has over 15 years’ transaction consultancy experience, with considerable knowledge in global markets. He specialises in advising mid-market businesses, corporate clients and financial institutions, in their assessment of acquisitions and divestments, as well as assisting organisations on their journey to initial public offering. Rob’s primary focus is on providing financial due diligence services for M&A transactions.

Rob has extensive deal experience across a variety of industry sectors, deal sizes and on a global basis. He has a particular interest in business services, education, healthcare, technology and transport & logistics sectors.

Rob is a chartered accountant (ACA) and holds the Corporate Finance Qualification (CFQ) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW).
