Our specialist motor team provides up-to-date, accurate, concise and tailored advice, services and solutions to many UK dealer groups. Our specialists are trusted advisers to many motor dealer groups, supporting them on aspects of ECOS, PAYE, capital allowance and corporate finance.

With a proactive approach and extensive knowledge of the industry, we provide thought leadership and remain at the forefront of key issues facing the sector. We also run sector-specific and focused update events, such as the MHA Motor FD Forum and the Berkhamstead Motor Club.   • Capital Allowances (CA): we have the UK’s leading motor CA specialist in our team maximising allowances on dealers’ historic and current property acquisitions and expenditures.
  • Transactional tax advice and exit planning: ensuring the right operational and entity structure for our clients, including their trading and property interests.
  • Shareholder wealth and inheritance tax planning: tax-efficient extraction of wealth for dealership owners.
  • Employment taxes and company cars: supporting you with issues such as car averaging, establishing employee car ownership schemes, worker status, and travel and subsistence.
  • VAT planning and compliance: working with you on cases of HMRC litigation, partial exemption, finance and insurance income, Motability, dealer discounts and other specific motor VAT issues

Restructuring & Recovery Senior Manager

Manjit Shokar joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in November 2019 as a Restructuring & Recovery Manager in our London office. With over 15 years insolvency experience, he has previously worked for The Insolvency Service and a top 5 advisory firm.

Manjit has worked across a multitude of varying insolvencies, both corporate and personal. He works with Partners in our Restructuring and Recovery team to help clients when their companies are in financial distress. He also works on solvent liquidations, helping clients extract funds from their companies in a tax efficient manner.

Ashish Bhatnagar

Senior Tax Manager – Transfer Pricing

Ashish has a work experience of more than 14 years in Transfer Pricing. He joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in March 2020 as a Senior Manager in the Transfer Pricing team.

He has supported clients in designing and setting-up tax compliant structures by advising on the transfer pricing elements of business change and value chain transformation following the guidance of BEPS Action 8-10.  He is well versed with OECD principles and Transfer Pricing regulations of several countries.

He has worked on unique transfer pricing assignments including Profit Attribution analysis for MNCs constituting Permanent Establishments, Cost allocation analysis for Fortune 500 companies, transfer pricing compliances, and planning and optimization opportunities across a wide spectrum of industries.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He also holds an MBA Degree from Goa Institute of Management in India.

Rebecca Laughton (previously Bishop)

VAT Assistant Manager

Rebecca is ACCA qualified and joined the firm in 2019, specialising in the Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme for VAT. She previously worked for eight years at a regional firm of accountants where she worked closely with a portfolio of clients in various industries assisting with all aspects of running and managing their accounts functions, software requirements and providing bespoke management reports.

Rebecca is now using her accountancy and software experience to advise clients on how TOMS impacts their accounting, their margins and their businesses.

Ed is a Senior Manager in our financial services audit team and has over 12 years of audit experience leading audit of Banks and Asset Managers, having worked previously with a big 4 firm and top 6 accountancy firm in their financial services audit teams. His experience includes working on large and complex group audits.

At MHA Ed is responsible for delivery of Bank audits and CASS assurance engagements.
