HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) long-awaited consultation into ‘Off-Payroll’ working in the private sector closed to responses on 10th August 2018.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have introduced new legislation to digitise the tax system and the way businesses maintain their records. This will come into effect from April 2019 which now gives dealers less than six months to prepare for the change.
Matthew joined the MHA MacIntyre Hudson corporate finance team in 2015, having previously spent five years running his own business, which he subsequently sold. This experience as a business owner provided him with useful insight into the day to day demands of running a business, which helps him empathise with and better advise his corporate finance clients.
Prior to running his own business, Matthew worked in the corporate finance transaction services team at Grant Thornton in Manchester. He has also spent numerous years working in corporate recovery teams, leading to his well-rounded experience of both businesses experiencing rapid growth and those which have become distressed due to changing market conditions.
At MHA MacIntyre Hudson Matthew is focused on advising SME owner-managers across a broad range of sectors on acquisitions, disposals, MBO's, capital raisings and capital restructurings, valuations and strategic planning.
Matthew qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton in Manchester in 2008 and has a BSc in Economics from the University of York. He is married with two children and enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, any sport that involves being outdoors and reading, when not chasing after his kids.
Peter joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in January 2019 as Expatriate Tax Manager working within the Human Capital Advisory service line.
Peter is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and has over ten years of experience working in tax, with a focus on expatriate tax and global mobility. Having worked previously at EY and Deloitte, Peter has worked with many different clients of various sizes, from private clients and small to medium businesses to large, international corporations, helping them on a range of advisory and compliance issues.Get in touch with Peter Abbott
Rachel is a Chartered Tax Adviser, a specialist in providing tax planning advice to entrepreneurs' businesses. Rachel is a firm believer that to provide advice that is effective she has to really understand her client's business, personal goals and aspirations.
As well as heading up the firms Renewable and Sustainable Energy Sector, Rachel has extensive experience in Motor, Agriculture and Manufacturing & Engineering sectors. Much of Rachel's time is spent on transactional work both in the UK and internationally.
She re-joined MacIntyre Hudson's tax department in September 2005 after a period working with a finance house in London, providing sophisticated tax planning products to high net worth individuals and large owner managed businesses. David joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2018. Prior to this he had nearly 30 years working in the Big 4, the last 15 of which he was a Partner in two of the Big 4 firms.
David specialises in advising clients in the field of Human Capital – his deep specialism is in the area of global mobility but he has also advised on employment tax issues, global share plan due diligence and human resources strategy. He has led large multinational client relationships as well as advising many non-domiciled private clients in complex tax planning arrangements. He has a broad industry knowledge working with clients in the financial services, automotive, industrial and aerospace sectors. He has both UK and US tax knowledge which is extremely useful when advising US citizens working in the UK or UK nationals leaving to work in the US.
David’s role at MHA MacIntyre Hudson is to grow and develop an already well established Human Capital Advisory offering. He has a passion for developing people to help them achieve their very best. He is still an informal mentor to several of his ex-colleagues.
In his spare time David is a sports fanatic, although advancing years and waistline now limit his playing activities to golf, snooker and darts.
