Partner

Steve's background is in both industry and accountancy - he returned to the profession because it offered him more variety. When appointed in 1989, he was one of the firm's youngest ever Partners.

He specialises in advising owners and senior executives on strategic matters, corporate structures and tax planning. Steve believes that it is people who matter the most, both the people we employ and develop as well as our clients who we build long term business relationships with. He enjoys building and leading teams where client service is at the heart of everything we do.

Steve's specialisms include activity for professional practices and he is a member of the firm's Board with specific responsibilities for finance.

His hobbies include cycling and football.

Mark Minus

Partner

Mark has over 30 years experience in the profession providing compliance and business support advice to a diverse portfolio of clients consisting of owner managed businesses ranging from start ups to medium sized groups.  He also acts for a number of charities. 

He has a deep understanding of his clients' affairs and delivers a quality service, ensuring that his clients understand the figures or advice they are presented with. 

His portfolio has a broad sector coverage and Mark is also a member of the firm’s Professional Practices Sector Group having extensive experience in SAR Audits and Regulation for Solicitor clients. 

He is also a member of the firm’s Transport and Logistics Sector Group acting for a range of haulage companies in Kent. 

Outside of work Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons together with a keen interest in carpentry, architecture and design.  He is also a member of the Folkestone Rugby Club.

Stephen Poleykett

Stephen joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson in 2009 following 15 years in the profession when he specialised in the audit of AIM and fully listed companies.  During that period he helped listed companies through the difficult transition from UK to International accounting practice. He also gained a wealth of experience advising owner-managed businesses, especially in the area of tax mitigation and profit extraction. 

At MHA MacIntyre Hudson, Stephen joined the International team and he deals mainly with the UK operations of overseas companies.  A typical week includes, international audits, helping foreign individuals and businesses plan their entry into UK markets, establishing UK legal entities and hand-holding clients through the maze of UK  legal and tax compliance.  With the option to call upon a range of specialist expertise within the firm, including HR, insurance and ex-patriot tax, Stephen helps our firm provide a one-stop show for new and mature international business. 

In his spare time Stephen enjoys keeping an eye on current affairs, having fun with his family and avoiding household chores.

Ian Jacobs

Ian works closely with his owner managed clients in order to understand what makes them and their businesses tick. This helps him to tailor his advice specifically to the individual's own personal and business aspirations. Well known within the local business community and working with a wide variety of companies, Ian endeavors to nurture their entrepreneurial spirit and steer his client’s businesses to their end goal. With a keen eye on his sector specialisms of Transport & Logistics, Healthcare and Property & Construction, Ian is able to provide companies with the in-depth knowledge and advice they require to grow and develop.

Ian has extensive knowledge of the Care Home sector enabling him to advise his clients on the constantly changing regulations and tax incentives available.

As a keen sportsman Ian believes that the same teamwork and competitiveness employed on the sports field can translate to an equally effective strategy for success in business.
